Disclaimer
kWh Check is an independent reference. It is not a utility, a retail electric provider, the U.S. Energy Information Administration, the Public Utility Commission of Texas, or ENERGY STAR.
Every price on the site is labeled with a source and a year or an effective date. An EIA-861 cents-per-kWh figure is annual residential revenue divided by annual residential sales. A tariff total is the sum of the lines that were read from the cited sheet. Those two numbers answer different questions. The site shows them side by side and does not add them.
Base schedules for Georgia Power and Duke Energy Carolinas in North Carolina exclude fuel and riders that the tariff itself says are extra. Delivery totals for Oncor, CenterPoint, AEP Texas, and Texas-New Mexico Power exclude the retail energy charge. Florida Power & Light totals exclude gross receipts tax and franchise fees, and they do not apply the insert's minimum base bill. Read the excludes list on the calculator before treating a total as a bill.
If a number here disagrees with the document it cites, the document controls. If your bill disagrees with both, your bill is the amount you owe.
